Organise the route and record handovers

Delivery work involves more than travelling between addresses: it includes preparing parcels, following instructions and recording proof of delivery. Describe your experience with tracking tools, recipient communication and failed delivery attempts; identify the vehicles you can drive and your ability to understand local instructions so an employer can assess both operational and customer-facing skills.

Calculate the costs you would carry

Before moving, check whether the offer is employment or an independent service arrangement and who covers the vehicle, insurance, fuel and maintenance. Clarify hours, delivery area, lifting requirements and payment method; a quoted amount per delivery cannot meaningfully compare two arrangements without knowing expenses, time spent and the responsibilities attached to the work.
