Working without a residence permit: check your position

Separate residence status from an employment project

A potential job does not by itself resolve the question of residence in a country. Identify the documents you hold, their expiry dates and the procedure applicable to your circumstances; permission associated with a visit, studies or another purpose should never be interpreted without checking its scope.

Have the available steps assessed before starting work

Present your circumstances to a competent service, specifying nationality, residence history and the intended position. Confirm which actions belong to you and which to the employer, along with their sequence, and retain official responses instead of relying on verbal assurances about how a residence issue will be resolved.
