Describe the systems you actually administered

For an international administrator role, detail the systems, networks and cloud environments you have operated. Explain changes, backups and incidents through anonymised examples. Distinguish daily administration, architecture design and automation, since these responsibilities are not distributed identically across teams and a familiar title may conceal a different technical remit.

Understand operational support arrangements

Ask about coverage hours, escalation procedures and the split between internal teams and providers. Available documentation and granted access determine your ability to intervene. Check language requirements and on-call work as well: infrastructure spanning several countries may require coordination beyond the working hours of the office where you are based.
