Check how induction will be understood

For work in Slovakia, establish the language used for instructions, supervision and conversations with colleagues. An advertisement in a foreign language does not necessarily describe every part of daily working life. Prepare vocabulary connected with your tools, instructions and the tasks you will need to explain to others.

Identify the steps leading to your first working day

Before travelling, collect the proposed contract, assignment address and contact details of the person expecting you. Ask how the first days and any shared transport are organised. The public vacancy portal, ÚPSVaR and the IOM information centre provide complementary resources to help you assess the employer’s explanations.
