Match your experience to the bar concept

A bartender position may emphasise mixology, fast service or running a hotel counter. Present examples suited to the venue’s concept, including stock management and drinks control. Knowing recipes does not replace the ability to welcome customers, coordinate orders and maintain an orderly workspace throughout a demanding service in a new professional environment.

Plan for late closing duties

Ask how preparation, service and closing cleanup are divided across the team. Understand local alcohol rules, required training and staff responsibilities before starting work. Also examine overnight schedules, transport arrangements and the calculation of bonuses or tips where applicable, rather than treating these details as guaranteed parts of every package.
