Compare actual hours and how they are distributed

Part-time work does not always mean identical weekly hours or fixed working days. Ask for the guaranteed amount of work, expected availability and how schedules are communicated; a half-time position concentrated into a few days shapes daily life differently from short shifts spread across the whole week.

Assess income against travel and availability demands

Build a budget using agreed hours and commuting costs, then examine applicable leave and other benefits. Also check that the working pattern fits your permission to work and other commitments; reduced hours may support a personal plan without automatically making a move abroad financially workable in your circumstances.
